Deciding when to buy or sell a home can be difficult. With the recent ups and downs of the real estate market, there are many potential homeowners who have become not only worried, but skeptical when buying, selling or dealing with a real estate agent. Luckily for those who are looking to sell in Massachusetts, pending home sales had a record month in May.
According to RealEstateRama, The Massachusetts Association of Realtors (MAR) reported having the highest level of pending home sales in the month of May since 2004, with homes under agreement increasing 18.4 percent compared to last year. With prices also rising incrementally when compared to 2015, this sign of a strong market is great for anyone looking to sell in Massachusetts.
Annie Blatz, 2016 MAR president, was particularly excited about this increase in pending home sales.
“May is typically a high-activity month, and this year topped even the record pending sales we had this time last year,” said Blatz to the RealEstateRama. “It’s heartening to see, especially with the continuing problem of low inventory, that people want to live and work in Massachusetts and they’re able to find suitable homes.”
With data showing that pending sales have been up 38 of the last 39 months, now is the ideal time to find a professional and knowledgeable real estate agent to help you put your house on the market.
